Our goal is to promote optimal health and well-being through a personalized and collaborative approach to care, involving our entire team of healthcare professionals with varied expertise.

At ModMeds, we also offer nutrition coaching, medical acupuncture journeys on vibroacoustic beds, trigger point injections, psychotherapy sessions, and other therapies to support your care.

What is the integrative care approach?

Every patient is seen by one of our medical doctors for a comprehensive and holistic medical or mental health evaluation to better understand their care needs. A personalized care plan is co-developed that may include self-care guidance, care-coordination, and evidence-informed treatments offered with ModMeds.

How does the clinic integrate conventional and complementary therapies?

Our team collaboratively assesses each patient’s health history, symptoms, and wellness goals. We then integrate the most effective conventional medical treatments with complementary therapies that are scientifically proven to be safe and effective, ensuring a coordinated, comprehensive approach to your healthcare.

What is a Medical Acupuncture Journey?

We call it a journey because we are offering acupuncture with a consciousness of set and setting that is woven into the fabric of the clinic, and incorporates a tailored sound journey on an InHarmony acoustic vibration treatment bed. This provides a psychedelic-like experience to allow you to “drop in” deeper to the treatment and hopefully enhance your healing process.

Acupuncture, a key therapeutic modality of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has been practiced for over 2,000 years, originating from ancient Chinese beliefs about balancing the body’s “vital energy” or “Qi.” It involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to restore the flow of Qi, promoting healing and relieving pain. Medical acupuncture means that we provide acupuncture by our Integrative Doctor trained in both modern and ancient forms of Chinese medicine. Our medical acupuncture visits include both needle-based treatments, and continued medical guidance and support around your care goals that are initially explored at your initial consultation.

What is trigger point therapy?

Trigger point therapy or trigger point injections (TPI) were developed in the mid-20th century as a treatment for myofascial pain, rooted in research on muscle dysfunction and pain referral patterns.  It is a conventional medical treatment modality used to help relieve muscle pain and tension by targeting specific knots, tender points or “trigger points” in the muscle tissue. A small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic (no epinephrine and can be optional), is injected directly into the trigger point to numb the area, and work along with the needle effects to reduce pain, and relax the muscle.

This therapy can help provide relief for conditions such as: chronic muscle pain, tension headaches, fibromyalgia and other conditions with musculoskeletal pain and tension. The procedure is low risk, minimally invasive, and would be part of a comprehensive pain management or integrative care plan to help rehabilitate and heal globally.  We are especially trained in the incorporation of trigger point therapy along with medical acupuncture for synergistic effects.

What is integrative palliative care?

Integrative palliative care is a holistic approach that focuses on improving the quality of life for patients facing serious or life-limiting illnesses by addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects of care. It combines conventional medical treatments with integrative therapies such as acupuncture, nutrition, ketamine assisted therapy and mindfulness to help alleviate symptoms like pain, nausea, fatigue, and anxiety. At our clinic, your integrative palliative care plan is personalized, ensuring that your unique needs and goals are supported throughout the journey. Our team works closely with you and your family to provide compassionate, whole-person care aimed at enhancing comfort, dignity, and well-being.
